Rutgers keeps doing it.

On Friday, Hillside High School linebacker Isaiah Deloatch became the latest prospect from North Carolina to commit to the Scarlet Knights. The rising senior is the fifth football player from North Carolina to commit to Greg Schiano's staff within the past 11 months. Mallard Creek wide receiver Ben Black, D.H. Conley wide receiver Isaiah Crumpler, and Asheville safety Noah Shaw joined Rutgers' 2024 class. Last week, Eastern Guilford wide receiver Steven Murray became one of the Scarlet Knights' first pledges for 2025.

Deloatch is listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds. He is ranked as the No. 13 prospect in North Carolina's class of 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

The linebacker chose Rutgers over in-state offers from Duke, Campbell, and UNC-Charlotte as well as over other out-of-state offers from Indiana, USF, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Howard, James Madison, Liberty, Old Dominion, Syracuse, and Troy. Duke was the first school to offer the Durham native.

Over two seasons on varsity, Deloatch has recorded 104 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions, four pass breakups, and a fumble recovery, according to Hillside's MaxPreps page. The athlete also excels in track. He recently clocked a 10.61 in the 100 meter.

Hillside is coming off of a 6-5 overall season that resulted in a DAC-VI Conference championship and an appearance in the N.C. High School Athletic Association's 4A East playoffs.
